MP: Case registered against manager, owners of Indore's under construction resort after 5 people die due to roof collapsed

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 23 : Madhya Pradesh police registered a case against four people--a manager and three owners--of Indore's under-construction resort, where five people died following the roof collapse of a cottage on Friday, according to a police release.
The incident occurred in Choral locality, under the jurisdiction of Simrol police station in the district. Among the five dead people, four were labourers and a contractor.
According to the police, those who died were identified as Pawan Panchal (35) (Contractor), a resident of Bhaswada, Rajasthan and currently living in Indore's Rau and labourers were identified as Hariom Malvi (22) & Ajay Malvi (20), residents of Shajapur and Raja (22) & Gopal Prajapati (60), residents of Indore.
"Prima facie, the owners of the under-construction resort were found to have carried out the construction work of the cottage negligently, due to which five people died. Following which, a criminal case has been registered against the manager of the under-construction resort, Rahul and the owners. Further action into the matter is underway," stated the release.
The accused have been identified as manager Rahul Ahirwar (32), a resident of Sehore and owners Vikas Dabkara (36), Anaya Dembla and Vihana Dembla, residents of Indore.
According to the Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the tragic incident. He prayed that the departed soul rest in peace and give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss. CM Yadav has also instructed to give Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased from the Chief Minister's Voluntary Grant.
Additional Rs 2 lakh each are also being given to the families of the deceased through the Red Cross. With this, the families of the deceased will get financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each, it added.
