Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 12 : Former Chief Minister and Congress Rajya Sabha MP, Digvijaya Singh performed Shastra Puja on the occasion of Vijayadashami in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district on Saturday.

"People make their children hold degrees but it is also their responsibility to instill culture, values and a sense of service in them. Every house should be armed with a stick behind the door and at least two swords in front of Devi Mata and those who can get a licence for a 12-bore gun or revolver must apply for the licence. Every person should be armed.
She also urged Hindus to plant 5 trees before leaving this world.
"Savarkar's dream was Hinduization of the nation and militarization of Hindus. If we want to maintain the glorious tradition of this nation, then we will have to make our families armed," she added.
Meanwhile, reacting to her remarks, Congress leader Singh said that he had no objection to the statement but there should be discretion as to how weapons should be used.
"I have no objection to it, but there should be discretion as to how weapons should be used. I say that keeping weapons is a good thing but the biggest weapon is our pen and we should remember it," Singh told reporters.
Along with this, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also performed Shastra Puja in Police Line, Indore for the welfare and well-being of everyone.
"On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, a festival of victory of Dharma over Adharma, and 300th birth anniversary year of Devi Ahilyabai, I performed Shastra puja with Vedic rituals at the Police Line, Indore and prayed to Lord Shri Ram, for the welfare and well-being of everyone," CM wrote on X.
"In the Indian tradition, both weapons (Shastra) and scriptures (Shaastra) have a special place; scriptures teach us to follow the path of Dharma and weapons teach us to protect Dharma. Their coordination and harmony make human life balanced and prosperous," he further wrote.
