MP: Lokayukta raids premises of junior auditor in connection with disproportionate assets in Bhopal, recovers jewellery, cash worth around Rs 82 L

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 17 : Lokayukta police raided multiple locations associated with a junior auditor of the Technical Education Department, Ramesh Hingorani in connection with a disproportionate assets case in Bhopal on Wednesday and recovered cash and jewellery worth around Rs 82 Lakhs, an officer said.
The teams of Lokayukta raided at six locations, including the house of Hingorani located in Bairagarh locality in the state capital and continued the action till Wednesday midnight.
Bhopal's Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjay Shukla said, "We received a complaint against Technical Education Department's junior auditor Ramesh Hingorani in connection with a disproportionate assets case. During the verification, prima facie the complaint was found corrected as a result of which, a case was registered and search conducted at Hingorani's house, his workplace and other locations linked to him."
Bhopal' Lokayukta SP, D K Rathore said during the search operation some gold and cash was recovered whose valuation and counting was being done. The raid was conducted at six locations by the six teams of Lokayukta in the state capital.
Later on, after the action concluded late night, DSP Shukla said, "During the action, the property recovered so far includes Gold jewellery around 1014 gm whose estimated cost approximately Rs. 70 Lakh, Silver jewellery of around 1021 gm worth approximately Rs 55,500 and cash of Rs 12,17,950. Besides, property documents have also been recovered, which are being examined."
Additionally, he further added, "A weapon, look like to be country-made, has been recovered. Though we are not sure whether it is licensed or not, local police have taken action under the Arms Act."
Further probe into the matter is underway, he added.
