Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 13 : As the Maharashtra assembly election draws near, Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi on Sunday released a booklet titled 'Gaddarancha Panchnama' accusing the Mahayuti led Maharashtra government of "betraying" the dharma of Maharashtra.
MVA alleged Mahayuti alliance of indulging in corruption and disrespecting the revered icons of Maharashtra.
"The Mahayuti indulged in corruption even while building the statue of our revered icon, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Let us banish these traitors who dishonoured the legacy of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar," the MVA's booklet read.
NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday, while releasing the booklet said, "We have a booklet of the same panchnama all the details are in this panchnama. We are showing a video of the same booklet."
The MVA in the booklet further accused that the atrocities of women have increased in the state and said that the farmers were committing suicides due to the burden of GST. "Under Fadanavis, there were 129 crimes against women each day," the booklet read.
Terming the current government, a 'Khoke Sarkar', MVA called upon the people of Maharashtra to remove the Mahayuti government.
The Maharashtra Assembly, consisting of 288 seats, will go to polls later this year. The Election Commission of India is yet to announce the election schedule.
The opposition further accused Mahayuti government of not providing enough jobs in the state. "Breaking its promise of 5 crore new jobs, NDA failed to fill over 2 lakh government jobs," the booklet read.
The MVA also released a series of charts in the booklet mentioning different scams under Mahayuti government.
Earlier today, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) came lashing out at the Maharashtra government over the law and order situation, "corruption" and non-fulfilment of promises.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray said that the MVA will announce their chief ministerial face after Mahayuti.
On Sunday, addressing a joint press conference, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said, "BJP's condition is so bad, that they are forced to contest under the leadership of thieves and traitors...Let Mahayuti announce their CM face first then we will let you all know who is our CM face. Being in government, Mahayuti should announce their CM face first."
Earlier on Saturday, Eknath Shinde launched a scathing attack on the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, saying that "Maharashtra would have fallen far behind" if the Uddhav Thackeray-led government had not been removed.
Speaking at the Shiv Sena's Dussehra rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, Shinde emphasized the stability of his administration, adding that while many predicted his government would collapse within months, it has now completed two years in power.
"Earlier, everyone thought the Shinde government would collapse in 2-3 months, but we have completed two years. If the MVA government had not been removed, Maharashtra would have been left far behind," the CM said.
The upcoming elections will see a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, and the Maha Yuti Alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
