Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 1 : Criticising Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks on "guarantees", Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske said on Friday that his statement makes it clear that the Maha Vikas Aghadi will stop the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' if they come to power.
Mhaske told ANI that after seeing the "false promises" of the Congress, the people of Maharashtra will elect the Mahayuti government again.
"During Lok Sabha elections, Congress made many false promises and gained votes due to fake narratives. They should have fulfilled their promises in those states where they are in power. They had promised the same thing in Karnataka that every woman's account would receive Rs 12,000. Nothing happened, everything turned out to be a lie. These people went to court to stop the Ladki Bahin Yojana that we started, but we did not dare to do that and deposited four months' money in people's accounts," the Shiv Sena MP said.
"With Mallikarjun Kharge's statement, it is clear that they (MahaVikasAghadi) will stop the Ladli Behan Yojna if they come to power and hence people of Maharashtra will elect the Mahayuti government again," he added.
Earlier, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge meted out advice to the Congress units headed for polls cautioning them to announce guarantees on the basis of their budget.
Kharge urged for careful consideration and warned that an unplanned approach could lead to financial difficulties and negatively impact future generations.
During the press conference, he underscored the importance of fiscal responsibility, stating that if the government fails to deliver on its commitments, it could result in a bad reputation and hardships for the community.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress Party for failing to deliver on their promises in Karnataka and urged the people to be vigilant and not fall prey to the Party's false promises.
PM Modi emphasized the Congress Party's history of making empty promises, citing their unfulfilled loan waiver commitments in several states, including Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
"The Congress Party is realising the hard way that making unreal promises is easy but implementing them properly is tough or impossible. Campaign after campaign they promise things to the people, which they also know they will never be able to deliver. Now, they stand badly exposed in front of the people," PM Modi posted on X.
PM Modi alleged that the Congress is busy in intra-party politics in Karnataka, adding that the salaries of Government workers are not paid on time in Himachal Pradesh and farmers are waiting for the waiver they promised in Telangana. PM Narendra Modi urged the citizens to be vigilant against the Congress party's culture of making false promises, emphasising that the people of Haryana have already rejected Congress' lies and opted for a stable, progressive, and action-driven government.
