Narendra Singh Negi is voice of the mountain, says Uttarakhand CM Dhami while releasing book "Kal Phir Jab Subah Hogi"

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 12 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday released the book "Kal Phir Jab Subah Hogi" written by Lalit Mohan Rayal on the compositions of famous folk singer Narendra Singh Negi in the program of 50 years of Geet Yatra and described Negi as the voice of the mountain.
On this occasion, Dhami honoured Narendra Singh Negi with Uttarakhand Lok Samman, presented a cheque of Rs 2.51 lakh and wished him a happy birthday by presenting a citation at the Sanskriti Auditorium on Haridwar Road.
The Chief Minister praised the efforts of the author of the book, Lalit Mohan Rayal, and described the book as a work to be preserved for future generations.
The Chief Minister, while congratulating the famous folk singer Narendra Singh Negi on his birthday, described him as a great son of Devbhoomi with a personality as unshakable as the Himalayas, and said that Negi ji's songs serve to introduce us to our surroundings as well as the challenges of the mountain.
The mixture of nature, tradition, environment, separation and sorrow in his songs serves to connect us with our rich traditions and folk culture. His songs will carry forward the rich tradition of our heritage from generation to generation and will continue to inspire the youth. Describing Narendra Singh Negi as the voice of the mountain, the Chief Minister wished him a long life.
The Chief Minister said that Negi ji has done the work of taking the rich folk culture and social concerns to the country and the world through his songs and music. He has been a successful hero of the society. His songs have helped connect the people of the state with their traditions.
Narendra Singh Negi expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for his attachment towards folk culture. Appreciating the efforts of Lalit Mohan Rai, he said that with his scholarship, he has presented the analysis of 101 songs in front of society in the form of a 400-page book. It is also a symbol of his deep understanding of folk literature and culture. He has taken the meaning of the words beyond the writer of the song.
On this occasion, he forced people to connect with their folk culture by singing his famous song 'Thandho Re Thando' written on stopping migration from the mountains.
