NC's Nasir Aslam Wani appointed advisor to J-K CM Omar Abdullah

New Delhi [India], October 16 : The Jammu and Kashmir government appointed senior National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani as advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday.
"Nasir Aslam Wani is hereby appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister, J&K. The terms and conditions of the appointment shall be notified separately," an order issued by J-K government's General Administration Department mentioned.

Omar Abdullah took oath as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory earlier in the day.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Saxena administered the oath of office to Omar Abdullah and his council of ministers at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
INDIA bloc leaders including Leader of Oppsition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Prakash Karat of CPI(M), Supriya Sule of the NCP and K Kanimozhi of DMK among others attended the swearing-in.
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and Congress alliance won majority in the assembly polls with Omar Abdullah, who is heading the National Conference-led government in the state, having the backing of parties of INDIA bloc and four independents.
Omar Abdullah had earlier served as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 2009 and 2015.
The NC-Congress alliance won the assembly polls in J-K held after a gap of ten years. JKNC won 42 seats while the Congress managed to win six.
