"Neither 2G, nor 4G will win...BJP to come": Amit Shah at Khammam
Aug 27, 2023
Khammam (Telangana) [India], August 27 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that neither the 2G government nor the 4G government will win in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections this year because it is time for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party to come to power in the state.
"...This time neither 2G will win nor 4G will win because its time for BJP to come (in power in Telangana)...," Amit Shah said while addressing the 'Raithu Gosa-BJP Bharosa' rally at Telangana's Khammam.
Explaining his 2G, 4G reference, Amit Shah said, "Congress party is 4G party which means four generation party, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. BRS is a 2G party which means two generation party, KCR and later KTR."
Reacting to the allegations made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge that an internal friendship is going on between BJP and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Amit Shah said, "Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that after the elections BJP and BRS will unite, but I want to say that BJP will never unite with KCR and Asaduddin Owaisi, instead will fight against them."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for his alliance with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
In an attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief, Amit Shah said, "You have broken the dreams of the fighters of Telangana Mukti Sangram by sitting with Owaisi for the last nine years". Amit Shah was addressing the 'Raithu Gosa-BJP Bharosa' rally at Khammam.
Referring to the AIMIM as the 'Razakars', the Union Home Minister said, "I want to tell KCR, that the youths of Telangana had laid down their lives for the state's liberation, not to sit down with the Razakars."
The Razakars were the paramilitary volunteer force of Hyderabad Nizam at the time of Hyderabad's integration into the Indian state. It is believed that the AIMIM has its roots in this paramilitary force which had resisted Hyderabad's Liberation.
Speaking about the actions taken by the KCR government against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in the state, Amit Shah said, "KCR thinks that if they oppress the BJP workers, BJP won't rebel. They arrested our leaders when we were fighting against corruption. They arrested Bandi Sanjay Kumar, pushed out Eleta Rajender from the Assembly..."
Accusing the Telangana Chief Minister of nepotism, Amit Shah said that everyone is aware that KCR wants his son KTR to head the state after him. However, Amit Shah said that it will not happen in this upcoming election.
"We know that you (KCR) want to make KTR the CM of the state, but this time neither KCR nor KTR will become the CM. This time someone from the BJP will become the CM," Amit Shah said.
Earlier on Thursday, Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy said that the Union Home Minister will hold a rally in Khammam regarding all the issues of farmers in the state, claiming that farmers "have been neglected for the last nine years under the KCR government."
“In Telangana, farmers have been neglected for the last 9 years under CM KCR and BRS government. Due to rain, and natural calamities, farmers have faced huge losses. Loan waivers were not provided to the farmers of Telangana, Union HM Amit Shah is holding a program regarding all these issues related to the farmers,” Reddy said speaking to ANI.
Shah was earlier scheduled to address the rally in June but it was postponed due to Cyclone Biparjoy.
The Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled at the end of this year. The ruling BRS has released the first list of 115 candidates for the assembly elections.
The state is going to witness a three-pronged contest among the BJP, the BRS and the Congress. The Telangana election will serve as a litmus test for the BJP-led NDA and the INDIA alliance before the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress and the BRS are at loggerheads with each other in Telangana since the latter refused to join the Congress-led INDIA alliance. This led to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge attacking KCR and accusing the BRS chief of forming an "internal friendship" with the BJP at a public meeting in Rangareddy on Saturday.
"BJP says that Congress has done nothing in the past 53 years, they ask us to show the report card. In Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, they asked this question what we (Congress) have done in 53 years. I don't know whether they will ask this question in Telangana as KCR and BJP have become friends. This is an internal friendship, they can not speak aloud about this," Kharge said.
"We 26 parties are ready to remove PM Modi led-BJP govt at Centre. But KCR never attended any meetings and never said that to remove BJP (at Centre). Here they (BRS) say that they (BRS) are secular but on the same hand they are discussing things with them(BJP)," the Congress chief added.
Earlier on August 2, KCR made it clear that his party was neither with the I.N.D.I.A, the Opposition bloc, nor the BJP-led NDA. KCR however clarified that the BRS was not alone as it has like-minded partners.
"What is this INDIA? They (Congress) ruled the country for over 50 years and could not bring any change to the country. The country is calling for change," the BRS chief said.
