New Delhi [India], May 13 : In a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister after his release from Tihar Jail on interim bail, BJP national spokesperson Raju Bista said Arvind Kejriwal is "the biggest scamster politician in history."
"I have never seen such a big scamster politician in history. in fact a politician who confidently lies day and night should be named 'Kejriwal'. After spending so many days in jail, he must be under mental stress and should go to a doctor and seek treatment for his mind," Bista said on Sunday, and claimed that "the BJP is winning all seven seats in Delhi."
Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on May 10, 50 days after he was jailed on corruption charges linked to the alleged liquor policy scam and hours after the Supreme Court granted bail to him until June 1.
Bista also slammed congress leaders Sam Pitroda and Mani Shankar Aiyar for their controversial statements.
Former Overseas Congress Chief, Pitroda, sparked controversy when he made a statement about the diversity of India, commenting on how people in the South "look like Africans, those in the West look like Arabs and those in the East look like Chinese." After his comment sparked a furore, the Congress has removed him from the post.
While, in an April 15 interview with a YouTube channel 'Chill Pill', Aiyar said that Pakistan is a respected nation that also possesses an atom bomb so India must enter into a dialogue with them.
"These are all anti-India. They don't like it when the country becomes stronger. They believe that the more India remains helpless, the more benefit it brings to the Congress party and its affiliated leaders. Individuals like Sam Pitroda, who speak against India, can never truly be with India," Bista said.
"And the other leader, Mani Shankar, I believe he should apply for permanent residence in Pakistan. I think Karachi and Lahore would be more suitable places for him," he added.
Amidst the political heat, Bista expressed confidence in the BJP's electoral prospects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, projecting a victory of 400 seats.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the BJP is poised to win 400 seats, and we have no doubt whatsoever. As the elections progress, Modi's popularity and trust in the BJP are growing. We're witnessing for the first time in 10 years that a leader is demanding votes based on performance. So far, election campaigns have been centred around big promises, but for the first time, it's about a strong leader who has delivered," Bista said.
All seven parliamentary seats in Delhi will vote on May 25, the sixth of the seven-phase nationwide polling.
The elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats are being held from April 19 to June 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
