Oct 30, 2024
New Delhi [India], October 30 : The Ministry of Civil Aviation has taken a significant step to enhance workplace health and safety by establishing a Medical Inspection Room at its headquarters at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu virtually inaugurated the facility on Wednesday, which offers primary healthcare support to employees during office hours.
Naidu stated, "This has been a very important step in providing proper healthcare to our employees at the Ministry of Civil Aviation."
He added, "This initiative has been inspired by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, who initiated the Swachh Bharat campaign 10 years ago. Every year, we come up with new ideas and approaches to address the Swachh Bharat issue, and our ministry has been at the forefront of tackling it. This year, we have taken a step further with the special campaign for Swachh Bharat 4.0, creating a facility to address the medical needs of our employees."
Staffed by a doctor and a nurse, the facility is equipped with essential medical tools, a waiting area, and a private examination room for immediate health needs.
The Chairman of the Airports Authority of India, Vipin Kumar, called it a significant step forward.
He said, "Sometimes, situations arise during work hours where an officer, employee, or anyone may face a medical issue. If there is no medical facility available nearby, a major mishap could occur. Keeping this in mind, and based on the directives of the honorable Minister, this Medical Inspection Room has been established."
"Medical staff will be available here, along with a support system, so that immediate help can be provided. If necessary, employees can be referred to nearby hospitals. This initiative aims to ensure that, although we hope no one faces such situations, if a need arises, this facility will be beneficial," the Chairman added.
This initiative by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India aims to create a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, reinforcing their commitment to employee support and wellness.
