Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 23 : Taking a dig at political parties constituting INDIA bloc for promoting their respective leaders as Prime Ministerial candidates, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla hit out at the opposition alliance saying that the alliance has no policy, or intention to serve the people but only desire for power.
The statement from BJP comes after posters portraying Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav's as "Future PM" were installed in Lucknow.
Shehzad Poonawalla said that the opposition bloc is busy fighting with each other on multiple issues and lacks clarity in their vision.
Speaking to ANI, Shehzad Poonawalla said, "INDI alliance is a unique alliance, it has no mission and vision for the country. There is only confusion, contradiction and thirst for ambition. First Congress and Samajwadi Party were fighting over seats in Madhya Pradesh. Now they were fighting over the PM post though there is no vacancy for the PM post."
Pointing out that all opposition parties are busy promoting their leaders as Prime Ministerial candidates, Shehzad Poonawalla said, "Sometimes Congress pushes the face of Rahul Gandhi, TMC pushes the face of Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Nitish Kumar's faces are also being pushed, how many PM candidates will they have in this confusing alliance?"
He further stated that the INDIA bloc is yet to come up with an agenda on public issues.
"In this alliance, they have no policy, or intention to serve the people, and nothing has been decided about what needs to be done for the people. This shows that this alliance is only an alliance of contradiction, from north to south they are only fighting against each other," he said.
Earlier Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that putting up posters is not an issue and
"This is not an issue. People keep putting up posters. Sometimes, they portray me as 'Krishna' or Arjuna', this has no meaning," Tejashwi Yadav said.
Earlier today, several posters portraying Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav as the "future Prime Minister" were put up outside the party headquarters in Lucknow by the party workers.
