"Not 'gathbandhan' but a 'thugbandhan'": SBSP chief OP Rajbhar on INDIA alliance
Oct 25, 2023
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] October 25 : Amid rising rift in the INDIAN bloc, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief OP Rajbhar on Wednesday took a wipe at the INDIA alliance saying that it is not a "Gathbandhan but a thagbandhan".
"INDIA alliance has been formed out of fear, this is not gathbandhan but thagbandhan. This alliance has come together to betray the public", Rajbhar said while speaking to ANI
Further slamming former Bihar chief minister Lalu Yadav, Rajbhar said, "Did Lalu Ji ever think of social justice?".
He went on to allege that these parties have just used the marginalised sections as their vote bank.
Slamming the Congress party's support and diplomacy over the caste census, Rajbhar said, "Today Rahul Gandhi is talking about caste census? Why did you (Congress) not do it when you were in power?"
However, this isn't the first time that SPSB Chief has blasted at Congress and INDIA alliance. Earlier, he had said that the INDIA bloc won't last long. "These are politicians and this is 'Neta-Nagari'. The alliance is not going to last. The reason is that people with different ideologies have come together", Rajbhar said while speaking to ANI here in the national capital."Everyone is distressed. Everyone is wishing to contest on more and more seats... This is the reason they are fighting among themselves..." he added.
The SBSP (Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party) had fought the 2022 UP Assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) but the relationship soured later.
OP Rajbhar joined the BJP-led NDA in July this year. His party holds six seats in Uttar Prades out of the total 403.
