New Delhi [India], April 5 : Taking a veiled dig at the BJP over the continuing string of exits of Congress leaders and workers to the ruling party at the Centre, going into the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, party leader Mumtaz Patel on Friday questioned what 'BJP Karyakartas' would feel seeing dissident rival campers fighting for 'space' in the party.
Taking to her official X handle on Thursday, the daughter of Ahmed Patel, the late Congress stalwart and an aide of the Gandhi family, posted, "Wondering if original @BJP4India workers and leaders are not good enough that they are inducting away like crazy everyone leaving @INCIndia...what will happen to the BJP karyakartas who have toiled for years in the party only for their space to be taken away by Ex Congress members.. so much so for #CongressMuktBharat .. now it's #CongressGrahstBjp!"
Patel's post came a day after Congress leader Gourav Vallabh severed all ties with the party, citing its 'lack of direction', and joined the BJP.
He was formally ushered into the principal ruling party at the Centre at its headquarters in the national capital on Thursday.
Vallabh said he was 'hurt' over its silence when some bigshots in the party and its partners in the INDIA bloc spewed venom on Sanatan Dharma.
Earlier, the ruling Congress in Himachal Pradesh plunged into a crisis after six sitting MLAs cross-voted for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan in the election for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in the state.
The six dissident leaders, who were suspended by the Congress, eventually crossed over to the BJP.
In Maharashtra, Congress leader Archana Patil Chakurkar, who also happens to be the daughter-in-law of senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, joined the BJP earlier.
Adding to the sequence of desertions from the grand old party, industrialist and former Congress leader Naveen Jindal also joined the BJP.
