Odisha government reconstituted panel to supervise Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee

Cuttack (Odisha) [India], July 5 : The Odisha government reconstituted a committee under the chairmanship of Justice Biswanath Rath to supervise the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee in carrying out the inventorisation of valuables, including pieces of jewellery stored in Ratna Bandar, Shree Jagannath Temple.
"The Government have been pleased to dissolve the High-Level Committee constituted vide Notification No.JTA-04/2024/2933/L, dated 02.03.2024 for supervising the process of inventorisation of valuables including jewelleries stored in the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri in principle," the official order stated.
A High-Level Committee is hereby reconstituted, under the Chairmanship of Justice Biswanath Rath, to supervise the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee in carrying out the inventorization of valuables, including jewellery stored in the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri.
C.B.K. Mohanty, CA Rajib Sahu, Retd. IAS Jagdish Mohanty, Retd. IPS Prakash Mishra, Swami Pragyananda Ji, Harihar Hota, Padmashree Sudarsan Pattanaik, Representative of Sri Sri Gajapati Maharaj, Representative of A.S.I, Madhu Sudan Singhari, Janardan Pattajoshi Mohapatra, Jagannath Das Mohapatra, Soumendra Muduli, Puri Collector and SJTA, Chief Administrator have been named as the members of the panel.
Puri Jagannath Temple Odisha is known as the land of Lord Jagannath, meaning the Lord of the Universe. Shree Jagannath Temple of Puri is one of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, in Puri in the state of Odisha. The greatest attraction of Puri is the world-famous temple of Jagannatha. It is known by many names, viz., the Puri temple, the Srimandira, the Bada Deu1a or simply the Jagannatha temple.
The temple of Jagannatha is one of the tallest monuments in the entire sub-continent of India and its height is about 214 feet from the ground (road) level. It stands on a raised platform of stone, measuring about ten acres.
