Odisha: Koratpur-Jagadalpur railway section restored after landslide

Koraput (Odisha) [India], October 10 : The railway line between Manabar and Jarati Stations in the Koraput-Jagadalpur Railway section of the Kottavalasa-Koraput-Kirandul (KK) rail line in Odisha's Koraput was restored following a massive landslide, an official statement said on Tuesday.
The railway line was badly affected following a landslide, causing the blocking of the railway line on September 13 this year, the statement added.
"In the restoration work, a number of Excavators, stone breakers along with a number of manpower of Railways were utilized to clear mud and rocks from the train line in 27 days", it further said.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of East Coast Railway, Manoj Sharma, visited the affected spot and reviewed and monitored the restoration work.
The track fit was given yesterday at midnight with the running of goods train at 10 Kmph and subsequent goods trains at 20 Kmph. The overhead equipment (OHE) was fit and charged at about 2:00 a.m. today, the statement read.
