New Delhi [India], July 2 : Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday slammed the Congress for creating a ruckus during PM Modi's speech in Lok Sabha and said that this is against the tradition of our Indian Parliamentary democracy.
Rijiju said, "The opposition's reaction during the Prime Minister's speech is condemnable. Every party was given an extension and the Congress was allotted 3 hours 48 minutes to speak. Yesterday Congress did not give time to its Manipur MP to speak. When there is a discussion on a bill or motion in the Lok Sabha, the party decides who will speak. When they should have given their MP a chance to speak, they did not let him speak, and when PM Narendra Modi got up to speak, they alleged that their Manipur MP was not allowed to speak."
The BJP leader also pointed out that in the last 10 years it has been seen that whenever the PM speaks, Congress people start creating ruckus.
"Congress should apologize to the people of Manipur for politicizing such a sensitive matter. I feel sorry for the new MPs. How will they learn? When the Prime Minister is speaking, the MPs are not being given a chance to hear what he is saying. This is not the tradition of our Indian Parliamentary democracy," Rijiju added.
