"Panic reaction": Shatrughan Sinha on 'Bharat' row

New Delhi [India], September 9 : Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Shatrughan Sinha said that it is just a "panic reaction" from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the Opposition has named its alliance as INDIA.
Incidentally, the nameplate before Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 Summit in Delhi on Saturday read 'Bharat'.
"This is panic reaction, nothing else," the TMC Asansol MP said speaking to reporters.
"In the Constitution, it is written “India, that is Bharat”. You can keep giving names but you have to abide by the Constitution. I can only say Judega Bharat, Badega India," he added.
Opposition parties reacted earlier this week following Rashtrapati Bhawan sending out invitations for a G20 dinner on September 9 on behalf of the 'President of Bharat'. The opposition alleged that the government was resorting to “drama” just because they got together and called their bloc as INDIA. BJP leaders have strongly supported the move by the government.
Earlier, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh said that the BJP is politicising the India-Bharat matter because they want to divert the attention from big issues like inflation and unemployment.
Digvijay Singh spoke to the media on the completion of one year of Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said, “If you say in English then it is President of India, if you say in Hindi then ‘Bharat ki Rashtrapati’, what is the controversy in this? They (BJP) want to bring politics in this translation game because they create new issues to divert the country's attention from the main ones like inflation and unemployment.”
