Ambala (Haryana) [India] September 30 : Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal said on Monday that the party will emerge victorious in the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
"On October 8, Congress will sweep Haryana and J&K. There is a one-sided election in Haryana, people are with Congress here. On October 8, people will show how they treat PM Modi," Venugopal said.
Meanwhile, speaking to ANI, Congress MP Kumari Selja, said, "We work on the ground. For 10 years, the BJP gave just hollow slogans to people. We have fought against their anti-people policies. Today, people trust Congress. If we look at the 10 years of BJP, they only showed dreams to people. They imposed a problem like Agniveer on the youth of the country. Injustice is being done to our armed forces."
"Ask the poor, shopkeepers, the youth, and the middle class--every citizen is troubled today under the BJP rule. There is no reason to fear, Congress is contesting these elections with full confidence. We will win," Selja added.
Congress MP Deepender Hooda further exuded confidence in Congress winning in the assembly elections of Haryana and said, "People have made up their mind to form a Congress government. Congress government is going to be formed with a huge majority. Voices are being raised across the state that the BJP government is going and the Congress party is coming. BJP has done such bad governance for 10 years that they had to change their Chief Minister."
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting set to take place on October 8.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party, securing 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
