Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 26 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Javadekar expressed confidence in the BJP's win in the state on Sunday and said that the people of Telangana felt cheated by the ruling BRS and have decided to change the government in the state.
"People in Telangana have now decided that enough is enough and so they have decided to change the government. This is because people in Telangana have felt cheated. The emotion with which Telangana was formed has been insulted," Javadekar said.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of BRS and State Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy, both of them will lose and the BJP will win in the Kamareddy and Gajwel assembly constituencies. This is the reality. Even the media persons there are saying the same thing," added the BJP leader.
Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrashekar Rao filed his nomination papers for both Gajwel and Kamareddy Assembly constituencies on November 9.
This is the third time he was contesting from Gajwel. He had won the 2014 and 2018 elections from this constituency. This is, however, the first time he is contesting from Kamareddy.
Rao will be contesting against Eatala Rajender in Gajwel, while Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy will be in fray at Kamareddy.
Earlier, Javadekar hit out at the ruling BRS in Telangana for the "two landmark corruption scams, Dharani Portal and Kaleshwaram" in the state.
Claiming that the BJP is winning the assembly elections, Javadekar asserted that "we will not only inquire but restore the lands to the real owners" in the state.
The Rajya Sabha MP also exuded confidence of the BJP's victory, " I am very sure BRS is losing, BJP is winning and Congress will come third."
Telangana Assembly polls will be held in a single phase on November 30. The counting of votes for the Telangana Assembly has been scheduled for December 3.
The state is poised for a three-cornered contest between the ruling BRS, which is bidding to return to the hustings for a third straight term, the Congress, and a resurgent BJP.
In the last Assembly elections in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share.
The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats while the BJP drew a blank.
