New Delhi [India], February 11 : Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Tuesday slammed Aam Aadmi Party alleging that "some people" consider Punjab as "their personnel ATM."
Speaking about the meeting of AAP MLAs with Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi , Maliwal said that there's anger amongst Punjab MLAs for the AAP convenor.
Speaking with ANI, Maliwal said, "Some people have started considering Punjab as their personal ATM. Sand mining is going on openly. There's too much corruption in transfer posting. There is a lot of anger among the people and MLAs of Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal has appointed his goon Vibhav Kumar as the chief advisor of Bhagwant Mann... Is the money looted from Punjab now coming to Delhi?"
"Arvind Kejriwal ji is looking to move to Punjab since he lost in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal called a meeting with Punjab MLAs because there's anger amongst Punjab MLAs over Kejriwal coming to Punjab. When Punjab has given the mandate to Arvind Kejriwal, what has he done for Punjab?" she added.
Meanwhile, AAP state President Aman Arora, speaking about the meeting, said that discussions were held on how to take the 'Delhi Model' to the grassroots in Punjab.
"We have replicated the Delhi Model in Punjab. We discussed how we can take our model to the grassroots," he said speaking to ANI.
He further stated that these meetings were held every six to eight months. "Many leaders of Punjab worked very hard for elections in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal thanked us for that. Arvind Kejriwal calls us all from Punjab every 6-8 months and holds a meeting..." Arora said speaking to ANI.
Earlier in the day, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann took a jibe at Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Pratap Singh Bajwa's claims of rift in the Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party, and asked how many MLAs does the Congress party has in Delhi.
He also slammed Bajwa over his criticism of law and order in Punjab, and said the situation was better than most of the states.
"I would ask Pratap Singh Bajwa to count on how many MLAs they have in Delhi. The law and order of Punjab is better than most states... We have to put in extra effort being a border state, and we are doing that..." Mann said speaking to the media.
The AAP convenor met Punjab MLAs to discuss strategies for the party after their crushing defeat in the Delhi assembly elections.
