"People of the country have been looted," says Congress leader Jignesh Mevani

Patan (Gujarat) [India], April 29 : Congress leader Jignesh Mevani on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that 135 crore people of the country have understood that they (BJP) will divide society on the basis of religion.
"People of the country have been looted through petrol, diesel and GST. People have understood who are the fake devotees of Lord Ram. Narendra Modi's pride will be destroyed the way it happened to Ravan," alleged Mevani.
The Congress leader further lashed out at the BJP government over the issue of women's security and employment saying that women were marched naked in Manipur. Youth and farmers committed suicide.
Hailing Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc he said, "We will take away money from the pockets of big capitalists and will give it to the poor and marginalised."
Earlier, Gujarat Congress President Shaktisinh Gohil, on Saturday, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of seeking votes in the name of Lord Ram, claiming that they won't benefit from this as they are exposed before the public.
Gohil spoke to the media after Congress leaders held a public rally in Valsad in support of Ananthbhai Patel, the party's candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The constituency will go to polls on May 7.
Notably, All 26 parliamentary seats in Gujarat will go to the polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 7. BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed in Surat after the nomination papers of the Congress party's candidate Nilesh Kumbhani were rejected, as his three proposers claimed in an affidavit to the district election officer that they had not signed his nomination form.
The third phase will include constituencies from Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Anand, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Bardoli, Navsari, and Valsad.
