"People of Uttarakhand have played an important role in environmental conservation": CM Dhami on World Environment Day

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 5 : On the occasion of World Environment Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and his government's committment to conserve rich bioresources.
The CM said, "The people of Uttarakhand have played an important role in environmental conservation. The state government is committed to the conservation of rich bioresources."
He said that we have to collectively think about the conservation of nature. Along with government efforts, the public, public representatives and voluntary organisations have an important role in awakening public consciousness towards environmental conservation and its promotion.
June 5th is celebrated as World Environment Day because it marks the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment in 1972.
On this day, people worldwide unite to celebrate the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability while highlighting the urgent need to address environmental challenges. This year's theme is "Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience."
Meanwhile, Dhami joined the celebrations with workers at the BJP state office in Dehradun after the BJP bagged three seats in the hill state on Tuesday.
He said that this result reflects the faith of the people of Devbhoomi in the revolutionary decisions taken under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various public welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the hardworking and diligent workers for this massive victory.
As per ECI, the BJP won all four parliamentary constituency seats in the state - Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur and Shimla Lok Sabha seats
Union Minister Anurag Thakur won for the fifth time in a row from the Hamirpur Lok sabha seat, actor Kangana Ranaut and Rajiv Bharadwaj made their maiden debut from Mandi and Kangra seats while former BJP state president Suresh Kashyap retained his Shimla seat.
