PM Modi recognizes HD Kumaraswamy's leadership, assigns him Union Minister role: JDS leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 13 : JD(S) Youth Wing President, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recognised his father HD Kumaraswamy's leadership by appointing him as a Union Minister in Modi 3.0 Cabinet.
Following a significant electoral victory in Mandya, Kumaraswamy was called to Delhi and entrusted with this crucial role.
"After the huge victory in Mandya, HD Kumaraswamy was called upon to Delhi and as we all know, he has been given the very responsible post of Union Minister. He is a Union minister today, serving the country and the state. Narendra Modi has given him this opportunity because of his administration in the past of being the chief minister of the state," Nikhil said.
"PM Modi has recognized Kumaraswamy's leadership and he's been given a big responsibility. I'm sure Kumaraswamy will deliver on his expectations," he added.
Nikhil also shared details of Kumaraswamy's return to Karnataka.
"Tomorrow, for the first time, he will be stepping into Karnataka after accepting the union minister post and he will be landing here at Kempegowda International Airport at 11:50 am. We have planned quite a few programs for the next three consecutive days," Nikhil said.
Earlier on Sunday, former Karnataka chief minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy took oath as a Union Cabinet Minister in the NDA government.
After taking oath as Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet Janata HD Kumaraswamy thanked the people of Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.
Taking to X he shared, "I have taken oath as a Cabinet Minister in the NDA Government led by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi. I extend my respectful thanks to Hon'ble President Droupadi Murmu for administering the oath. I also thank the citizens of the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, the people of Karnataka, and the cadres of the JDS and BJP parties for giving me the opportunity to serve the country."
He was the first among the BJP's partners to take oath of office and secrecy.
He was one of the two JD(S) candidates who won the Lok Sabha elections. Kumaraswamy won the Mandya constituency.
This time, BJP and JD(S) contested the Lok Sabha elections together, with the former fighting 25 out of 28 seats in the state and the latter contesting three seats.
HD Kumaraswamy is also a two-time Chief Minister of Karnataka. He served as the Karnataka CM from 2006-7 and then from 2018-19. He is currently serving as the president of JD(S).
