"PM Modi shares great relationship with Trump, wonderful he is back in US": Mary Millben

Washington, DC [US], February 13 : African-American singer and actress Mary Millben has expressed excitement over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US. She said that PM Modi shares a "great relationship" with US President Donald Trump and stressed that it is very significant that Trump has invited PM Modi in his first 100 days.
In an interview with ANI, Millben said that she is looking forward to hearing what Trump and PM Modi will say on Thursday. She called India an "important partner" for the US and added that India plays a key role in mitigating some of these challenges that they are facing.
On India-US ties, she said, "Well, if you remember back in the first term with President Trump. The US-India relationship was strong and the President and the Prime Minister certainly have a great relationship. We've seen that affection certainly over the years, and so it will, I'm looking forward to hearing what the President and the Prime Minister have to say tomorrow.
"I'm looking forward to seeing what their agenda will be in the context of strengthening the relationship, and certainly India is an important partner. It's our most important democratic partner. So, I'm looking forward to hearing what the President and the Prime minister desire to do together to make the world a better place. That's what we're all here for, right, is to make the world a better place, and we are certainly facing some challenges across the world, and India plays a very significant and key part in mitigating some of these challenges that we're facing. And so it'll be an exciting day tomorrow," she added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the US on Wednesday (local time) for a two-day visit. His visit to the US comes at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra and other officials welcomed PM Modi at the airport.
Highlighting the significance of PM Modi's visit to the US, Mary Millben said, "Well, I'll let the president certainly speak to that tomorrow when they meet. But, I think it's very significant that the President has invited the Prime Minister in his 1st 100 days. I think it speaks to the US-India relationship, which of course the two oldest and largest democracies in the world. The US-India relationship, I think is the most important diplomatic international alliance in the world and that's evident."
"If you go down the policies and see not only what the United States, how it benefits the world, but what India nurtures and benefits the world. So these two relationships are very important and I think that's indicative of why the president invited the Prime Minister here in his 1st 100 days and so I'm looking forward to their visit tomorrow and hearing certainly what the President and the Prime Minister desire to do as they both are on the... of their new administrations and it's going to be exciting to see them together tomorrow," she added.
Millben said that it is wonderful to have PM Modi in the US and recalled meeting PM Modi in 2023 when he was in the US. She expressed excitement to hear what the two leaders will say on Thursday (local time). She stated that the two great leaders are meeting here in the US in the first 100 days of Tthe rump administration.
On PM Modi's visit to the US, Mary Millben said, "It's wonderful that the Prime Minister is gonna be back in the United States arriving today. It was so good to see the Prime Minister back in 2023 when he was here for his arrival visit and to sing the Indian national anthem for the Prime Minister and my beloved Indian American community. It was a great joy to have him. So, it's exciting that he's coming back to the States here today, and I know going to visit with the president tomorrow and you know it's beautiful to see this time in the world, the recent election of the prime minister, certainly re-elected overwhelmingly and then to have President Trump back in office winning by a landslide. So these two great leaders meeting again here in the 1st 100 days of President Trump's new administration, it's exciting. Looking forward to seeing the Prime Minister."
This is PM Modi's first visit to the United States after Donald Trump assumed office for the second term. During his visit, PM Modi will hold a meeting with US President Trump. Members of the Indian community have gathered outside Blair House to welcome PM Modi.
Mary Millben said, "It's so wonderful to have the Prime Minister back in the United States. Of course, in 2023. I had the great joy of singing the Indian national anthem then and looking forward to being back in India this August to visit India, certainly to sing and see my beloved Indian family. So, there's no better way than to sing the Indian national anthem here."
She said that PM Modi will be "well-received" and welcomed in the Blair House and called it a "beautiful residence." She said that Blair House is a "wonderful space" to host guests of US President and has a significant history to US history.
On PM Modi staying in the Blair House, Mary Millben said, "I tell you, it's such a beautiful residence. It is the official guest house of the president. It was built in 1824. The United States government purchased Blair House in 1942, and I tell you, having performed now for five consecutive US presidents going back to Bush 43, President Bush. to President Obama, President Trump, when he was the 45th president, President Biden, and now again, President Trump. I've seen lots of guests, lots of heads of state, lots of folks come and go in Blair House, and it's such a wonderful space certainly to host the president's guest, but it has such significant history to our history as Americans, certainly and so it's just a beautiful residence and I was talking with a dear friend Heather, who makes all of the bouquets and flowers for Blair House. But, she's making some beautiful bouquets for the Prime Minister's arrival, and so it's a very ceremonial, very special place for the president's guests, and so I know he'll, when the Prime Minister gets in, he'll be very well received and welcomed certainly there as they host the Prime Minister for this visit."
PM Modi will be staying at the Blair House -- the historic guest lodging for dignitaries visiting the White House. Located at 1651 Pennsylvania Avenue, directly across the street from the White House, this historic home is no ordinary guest house. Blair House has hosted presidents, royalty, and world leaders, earning its nickname as "the world's most exclusive hotel."
Mary Millben announced that she will be visiting India in August for the Independence Day celebration and in November for Diwali. She stated that she will travel across India and is looking forward to seeing her "beloved India." She also sang India's national anthem.
On her upcoming visit to India, Mary Millben said, "I can tell a little bit. Very excited to be coming back to India, in August for the independence celebration and, and also again in November for Diwali. This time, we won't just be centralised in Delhi, but we'll have a chance to travel across India and I'm looking forward to this trip, not only to have some moments to sing and elevate the patriotic music of India. But, also to visit with farmers and some of the rural areas in India of women and young girls. It's such a big passion for me here certainly in the States and across the world. So I'm looking forward to this trip and finally seeing my beloved India and so now I must stay with all of my beloved family in India and so looking forward to being in India this fall."
