PM Modi to address closing ceremony of BJP's Parivartan Yatra in Jharkhand on October 2

New Delhi [India], September 30 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of BJP's Parivartan Yatra in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district on October 2, as per party sources.
As per party sources, during his visit to Jharkhand, PM Modi will first hold a meeting with the tribal community in Ranchi, following which he will head to Hazaribagh's Gandhi Maidan to attend the closing ceremony of the yatra.
This visit will mark the second time in 17 days that PM Modi will be in Jharkhand, following his previous visit to Jamshedpur on September 15.
The 'Parivartan Yatra' began on September 20 from six different locations in the state and has seen participation from central and state-level BJP leaders who have been energising the party's workers. The yatra has travelled through 200 blocks across Jharkhand, covering a distance of 5000 kilometres, and will conclude in Hazaribagh on October 2.
Top BJP leaders like party president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with other central ministers, have already participated in this initiative.
During his visit to Jharkhand, Prime Minister Modi will also lay foundation stone, launch, and inaugurate various projects worth over Rs 83,300 crore at around 2 pm in Hazaribag on October 2.
According to Prime Minister's Office, the initiative will cover approximately 63,000 villages across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 states and Union Territories, directly benefiting over 5 crore tribal people. He will also launch the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan scheme with a total outlay of over Rs 79,150 crore.
Ahead of the upcoming elections, the BJP is using this yatra as a platform to boost the morale of its workers and to promote its agenda of bringing change in Jharkhand's government.
Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government's tenure is set to end in January 2025. The Election Commission is yet to announce the election schedule.
In 2020 assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, Bharatiya Janta Party won 25 and Congress won 16.
