Police seizes 102 kg ganja from Assam's Karimganj, one held

Karimganj (Assam) [India], September 2 : The Assam Police seized 102 kg of ganja from a truck and apprehended one person in Assam's Karimganj district on Monday, an official said.
A senior police official of Karimganj district said that the narcotic items were recovered from a truck.
"Based on source input, a truck... was intercepted at Churaibari check point along Assam-Tripura border. On thorough search police team recovered 46 packets of ganja weighing about 102 kg from secret chember of the truck," the police official said.
The apprehended person has been identified as Sahebjee Tripura from Tripura.
Further investigation is underway.
Earlier today, the Assam Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation in the Jalalpur area where the officials seized 1 lakh Yaba tablets and arrested three accused individuals who were allegedly carrying the yaba tablets, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Congratulating the Assam Police for their commitment to a 'Drug free Assam', the Chief Minister posted on X that officials apprehended the accused individuals travelling in a vehicle from a neighbouring state. The post said, "Acting on credible information, @karimganjpolice conducted an anti-narcotics operation in the Jalalpur area today, seizing a vehicle with 1,00,000 YABA tablets and apprehending three individuals. The vehicle was coming from a neighbouring state. Kudos to @assampolice for their commitment to a #DrugFreeAssam."
