Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 19 : Karnataka BJP Leader CT Ravi on Friday criticized Congress for opposing the upcoming 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
Ravi alleged that every Congress leader opposes it due to their allegiance to the three Ms - "Macaulay, Marx, and Mao" ingrained in their minds.
Ravi elaborated on his statement, asserting that Congress leaders are influenced by the ideologies of Thomas Babington Macaulay, Karl Marx, and Mao Zedong.
"Every Congress leader is opposing it. The reason is, that 3 M are ingrained in their brain- Macaulay, Marx, and Mao. They are possessed with these 3 Ms. This is why they oppose Sanatana Dharma, Lord Ram, and the faith of Indians," Ravi said while speaking to ANI.
He accused the Congress of opposing anything beneficial for India.
"They oppose everything good for India. We have seen CM Siddaramaiah in Masjid offering namaz, but we have never seen him offer prayers in a temple," the BJP leader said.
The decision to snub the invitation to the January 22 Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony by the opposing parties of the INDIA bloc has triggered a political slugfest across the country.
CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, a host of Congress bigwigs -- national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi and the party's Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury---have already turned down the invitation to the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar earlier in the month turned down the invitation saying they will visit the temple at a later date.
Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram Temple is scheduled at the grand temple in Ayodhya at 12:30 PM on January 22, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the ceremony.
During the ceremony, an idol of Lord Ram will be enthroned in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya's Ram Temple.
Thousands of VIP guests have received invitations from the Ram Janmabhoomi Kshetra Trust for the ceremony.
