Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) [India], October 25 : Lauching a scathing attack at the BJP-led Centre, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday said the Narendra Modi-led Central government has brought crony capitalism and is promoting "only two businessmen."
Accusing the BJP-led Central government, Priyanka Gandhi stated that its policies have proven to be ineffective in creating job opportunities.
"Today's government central government) is promoting only two businessmen. Airports, ports, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are being handed over to them," Priyanka Gandhi said while addressing a public rally in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu.
She alleged that the Central government does not have a vision for generating enough employment opportunities for the youth.
The policies of this government (Central govt) do not result in generating enough jobs in the country. It does not have either a vision or a road map for addressing the unemployment problem. If you have a government like this then what impact it will have on your future," she said.
Priyanka also alleged that the Modi government has sold out big Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) that used to be one of the biggest sources of employment generation.
"Central government has handed over big PSUs that generated a lot of job opportunities to their industrial friends. Once these PSUs are privatised, there will be no reservation in employment for the backward sections, and they will also cease to generate jobs as they used to do," she added.
"Employment opportunities come from big PSUs. Once the PSUS are privatised there will be no reservation, and then these companies cease to generate jobs in a noticeable way," she said.
Priyanka Gandhi said that another important source of employment in the country is the farm sector, which, she alleged, is being ruined by the policies of the Central government.
"Why did farmers protest? They protested because the central government brought black laws( Three Farm laws which the government eventually revoked). The design of the government was to hand over the farm sector as well to its industrial friends".
She also alleged that while two industrialists are being promoted others are neglected.
The public rally was held as part of the Congress' campaign programme in the poll-bound state ahead of the November 25 elections.
With poll dates nearing in Rajasthan, both the BJP and Congress are slugging it out to form their government.
Rajasthan assembly polls will be held on November 25. The 200-member house will go to polls in single-phase. The counting of votes will take place on December 3, coinciding with the other four states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
