Punjab: BSF, Punjab police recover drone along with packet of heroin in Tarn Taran district

Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], September 12 : In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police on Thursday recovered a drone with a huge consignment of heroin in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
As per an official release, on September 12, consequent upon the activation of technical countermeasures, BSF successfully neutralised a drone intrusion on the Tarn Taran border. Later, on receiving the information about the fallen drone, a joint search operation by BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police was conducted in the suspected area.
"At about 04:43 pm, the troops successfully recovered one assembled drone (quadcopter) along with one huge packet of suspected heroin (gross weight: 6.230 kg) from a farming field adjacent to the village- Gilpan in Tarn Taran district. The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape. An improvised loop and two illuminating sticks were also found attached to the packet," the release said.
The recovered drone is an assembled quadcopter.
Earlier on September 9, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered 1.180 kilogrammes of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district.
