Punjab: BSF recovers broken Pakistani drone from field in Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], January 30 : The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab police, in a joint operation, recovered a Pakistani drone in a broken condition from a farming field in Tarn Taran district.
"On January 29, 2024, during night hours, vigilant BSF troops intercepted the movement of a suspected drone near Village Dal in district Tarn Taran. As per the laid down drill, BSF troops immediately cordoned off the anticipated dropping area," the BSF stated on Tuesday.

The BSF further said that during the search operation, the BSF troops successfully recovered one small drone in broken condition.
"Further on 30th January 2024, on first light of the day, an extensive Joint search Operation with Punjab Police was carried out in the depth area and expected dropping zone. During the search, BSF troops at about 10:55 am successfully recovered one drone in partially broken condition. This recovery took place in the farming field adjacent to Mari Kamboke village in Tarn Taran District," it added.
The retrieved drone is a Quadcopter made in China (Model - DJI Matrice 350 RTK), the BSF said.
Earlier on January 26, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in a joint operation recovered a Pakistani drone with one packet of heroin weighing 519 grams from a farming field in Mode village in Punjab's Amritsar, an official statement by the BSF said.
"On January 26, during the afternoon hours, following intelligence input, BSF Punjab Frontier troops and Amritsar Rural Police (Punjab Police India) conducted a joint search operation and recovered a Pakistani drone quadcopter model - DJI Mavic 3 Pro, made in China) and 519 grams of heroin," the BSF said in an official statement.
The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, and a metal ring was attached to the packet. This recovery took place in the farming field adjacent to Mode village in Amritsar District, it added.
