"Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi have no other issues than criticising each other": INLD

Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], May 25 : Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate from Kurukshetra, Abhay Singh Chautala took a jab at the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday and said that neither Rahul Gandhi nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi had any issues other than criticising and disparaging one another and saying things that would divide the country.
Speaking to ANI, Abhay Singh Chautala said, "Tell me, the BJP which is in power and considers itself as the largest party in the world and the Congress which ruled the country for a long time, both these parties are fighting on what kind of issues?"
"To date, both party leaders --- Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have not had any issues other than criticising and disparaging one another and saying things that would divide the country," said Chautala.
Adding further he questioned, "Is the Congress telling what they have done in the last 70 years or is the BJP saying what they have done in the past 10 years? We (INLD) have several things to tell to the people of Haryana as to what facilities we gave when our government was in power."
Meanwhile, the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections for 58 parliamentary constituencies saw a cumulative voter turnout of 49.2 per cent till 3 pm, as per the data shared by the Election Commission on Saturday.
The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls includes eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal. A total of 889 candidates are in the fray.
All parliamentary seats in Delhi and Haryana went to polls in this phase.
AAP and Congress have also joined hands in Haryana where BJP won all the seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Some seats in the state, including Hisar, are witnessing multi-cornered contests.
Apart from BJP and Congress, the electoral stakes are high for INLD, Jannayak Janata Party in Haryana.
The state will also go for assembly polls months after the Lok Sabha election.
Polling has already been completed on 428 parliamentary constituencies for 25 states and UTs in the first five phases of general elections.
Over 11.13 crore voters, including 5.84 crore males, 5.29 crore females and 5120 third-gender electors are eligible to exercise their franchise in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls. Around 11.4 lakh polling officials will be involved in conducting this phase of the election.
The Lok Sabha elections will be completed on June 1 after the seventh phase of polls in which voters from 57 constituencies will exercise their franchise.
The results will be declared on June 4.
