Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 11 : Hours after Congress leader Mahesh Joshi accused the BJP of trying to poach MLAs of the ruling party in Rajasthan, the Special Operations Group (SOG) said the probe is on the matter and some people could be involved.
"Complaint of Mahesh Joshi is being probed. While intercepting phone calls of two anti-social elements, it was found they could be involved in poaching of MLAs in the state. Apart from them, other people could be involved in the matter," said Ashok Kumar Rathore, Additional Director General, SOG.
Pointing out that SOG may probe some people in the case, he added, "We have filed cases against the two and others under relevant sections of IPC. The case is being probed. We can take statements from some people. There are some are talking with the intention of destabilising elected government openly. It's our responsibility to proceed with such offenders."
Earlier, issuing a statement, signed by Joshi, the Congress had alleged that the BJP was trying to poach its MLAs by trying to lure them in different ways. It alleged that similar attempts were made during the Rajya Sabha polls last month.
