Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 11 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan Shukla on the occasion of Navami hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over their approach to consistently work for women's empowerment and safety in the country. He further stated that respecting women's power is the true religion.
"Many schemes are being implemented to encourage women in the country and the state. Prime Minister Modi Ji has increased the respect of daughters in society by starting campaigns like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'. Chief Minister Yogi ji's 'Mission Shakti' scheme is a symbol of women's safety, respect, and empowerment, which is inspiring women to become self-reliant," said the Gorakhpur MP.
"Under Mission Shakti, many programmes are being run for women's empowerment in Uttar Pradesh. Respect for women's power is the true religion and it is the only way to take the society in the right direction." He said that the central and state governments are constantly working on such schemes, which ensure the all-round development of women and their safety. The MP appealed that every person in the society should respect women and give them equal rights, only then the country will be able to become strong and progressive.
MP Ravi Kishan celebrated 'Kanya Puja' at his residence in Gorakhpur on Navami of Sharadiya Navratri and took their blessings. He washed the feet of nine girls and fed them. "On the Navami date of Navratri, the worship of Maa Durga is completed by worshipping nine girls, symbolizing the nine forms of Mother Bhagwati. This festival is a symbol of respect and worship of women's power. In the Sanatan Hindu religion, worship and felicitation of girls is considered to be the worship of various forms of Adi Shakti Maa Durga."
He also said that in the future he will try to promote more women-oriented welfare schemes in Gorakhpur and other parts of the country so that they can be further empowered.
