Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 11 : In a claim ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Thursday said that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is 'insecure' in his party and will soon come out of the Congress and join the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
BJP MLA Maheshwar told ANI, "There are three groups in the Congress. One is yellow group of those who came from TDP, another is MLAs and leaders from BRS and the last is the Gandhi or original Congress. These three groups are trying to establish themselves."
Reddy further claimed that there are groups in the Congress party in Telangana who are trying to ditch him.
"In yesterday's statements made by him (Revanth Reddy), it is very clear that there is a conspiracy within the party to defeat him. A Chief Minister making a statement that there is a conspiracy to defeat him makes it a clear indication that there are groups in the party which are trying to either ditch him or trying to bring him down. Now, the issue is when somebody is trying to bring him down, he is trying to take MLAs from BRS but only 3 of them joined. Now his intention is very clear that if nobody is joining the Congress party he might come out with his yellow group i.e. around 25-30 people with him and make an alliance with BRS or try to make his own arrangement. It is very clear that he is insecure in Congress." Reddy said.
Reacting to KTR's comments that Revanth Reddy will soon join BJP with some MLAs, the BJP leader said, "Earlier also they(Congress-BRS) were friends. If you see the history, earlier Congress and BRS joined hands and formed government in the state and they were even part of the central government".
He emphasized that with BRS's substantial MLAs, they could independently form a government.
"They(BRS) have 39 MLAs even if this guy(Revanth) comes with 25-30 MLAs, they can form a government. We have only 8 MLAs. Why would he come to us? If he wants to continue the government, he will join with BRS and continue the government," Reddy stated.
