Bengaluru (karnataka) [India], May 2 : Businessman Robert Vadra, who is the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has slammed the BJP government over the obscene video case involving suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna and said people want to know how he "fled abroad so easily".
In a Facebook post, Robert Vadra said he was horrified and disgusted to read and learn about the facts of MP Prajwal Revanna.
"The BJP government talks about the safety of women, but has not acted on this MP, who sexually assaulted women from all walks of life," Vadra alleged.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shared stage with Prajwal Revanna at a rally. BJP and JD(S) are fighting Lok Sabha polls as allies. Prajwal Revanna is contesting Lok Sabha polls again from Hassan.
"The anti-women face of the BJP government has come to the fore again and again...People want to know how the accused escaped abroad so easily? My sympathies are with the suffering women," he added.
Revanna was booked in an alleged sexual harassment case on April 28 following complaints by his former housekeeper. The case has been registered under sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the IPC on charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and outraging the dignity of a woman.
As per the complaint, the victim has claimed that Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna had sexually assaulted her. Revanna is the grandson of party supremo and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
The Karnataka Home Minister told the media on Thursday that a look-out notice has been issued in the case.
"Look out notice has been issued. It has been informed that he (Prajwal Revanna) has to appear before the SIT. They (HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna) have to appear as notice is given. If they don't appear, they will be arrested," Parmeshwara said.
Opposition parties have said that Prajwal Revanna fled to a European country after the allegations against him surfaced.
Prajwal Revanna has sought more time to appear before the investigation team. "As I am not in Bangalore to attend the inquiry, I have communicated to CID, Bangalore, through my advocate. The truth will prevail soon," he said in a post on Wednesday.
