Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 25 : Madhya Pradesh Samajwadi Party (SP) president Manoj Yadav on Thursday accused former minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Bhupendra Singh of threatening the victim family members in Sagar's Barodiya Nainagir murder case and demanded action should be taken against him.
He further said that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also met with the family members of the victim and had assured the family of justice but till now the family neither received any compensation nor the case was investigated by the CBI.
"We all know about the incident of Barodiya Nainagir village in Sagar district. Three members of the family were killed one by one. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had also visited there to meet the victim's family and had also given assurance to them. But till now the family has neither received any compensation nor the case is being investigated by the CBI," Yadav said.
On Wednesday (July 24) a delegation, including Samajwadi Party leaders, went and met the family and the victim's mother was crying and saying that only one son was left in the family. Apart from this, the Additional SP of the area, Sanjeev Kumar, is saying to make a compromise; otherwise, the son who is left will also be killed, the SP leader claimed
"When the police administration official is speaking like this, we can understand what kind of law and order is in Madhya Pradesh. Is the Chief Minister sleeping? He should wake up and provide justice to the family. Samajwadi Party stands with the victim's family. We demand that this case should be investigated by the CBI, compensation of Rs 1 crore should be given and the family should get a job and Awas," he added.
The main accused in this case is Ankit Thakur, a relative of former Home Minister and current BJP MLA Bhupendra Singh. He is still absconding and no FIR has been registered against him. Apart from this, all the other accused are BJP office-bearers. They are in jail but one of the accused has also got bail. It is such a big incident and still bail is granted to the accused, the SP chief further said.
"We demand from CM Yadav that BJP MLA Bhupendra Singh should also be made an accused in this case because there is a video of him too, where he was seen threatening the victim's family when they met him for help. The victim's family should get justice and such incidents should not happen against Dalits in future," he added.
Notably, a dalit girl was molested five years ago, and her battle for justice led to a series of incidents that resulted in the deaths of three family members, including her in Barodiya Nainagir village in Sagar district.
The victim who filed the molestation complaint in January 2019 also died on May 26 evening, allegedly after falling from a hearse which was carrying his uncle's body, who was beaten to death on May 25.
The victim and her uncle were eyewitnesses to her brother beaten to death on August 24, last year.
After the death of her brother, the victim then had said that she had filed a case against some people in connection with molestation with her in the past. A few people came to her house and they were pressuring her to make a settlement in that case. Her mother had agreed but still they threatened and left the house.
Meanwhile, her brother met them near the bus stand where they fought with her brother. On getting information about the dispute, the mother also reached the spot. When she intervened to pacify the matter, they also thrashed her mother, the girl added.
"When I reached there, they snatched my phone and thrashed me as well. They beat my brother by pressing his chest and neck with leg. They beat up so much that my brother became unconscious, even after that, they kept beating," she said.
Besides, in the two recent deaths, including the victim in the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lokesh Sinha said, "An incident of assault occurred under Khurai police station limits on May 25 in which a man died. A case was registered under IPC section 302 and investigation was underway. After the post mortem, the family of the man was carrying the body from a hearse and during this a woman (the victim) died after falling from the hearse."
