"Seats in INDIA bloc to be finalised soon": Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj after AAP-Congress meeting

New Delhi [India], January 8 : After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress held their first meeting over seat sharing ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Monday that they are positive that seats in the INDIA bloc will be finalised soon.

"We are absolutely positive that seats in the INDIA bloc will be finalised soon. Even when a party decides its ticket, there are many contenders for every seat. Even in a party, there is a problem in candidate selection as to whom to give tickets and whom not to. In such a situation, when there are two or three parties, there will definitely be problems. But this can absolutely be solved. Very soon, all the parties will be seen coming together on a common platform," the Delhi Minister told ANI.
As the countdown to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls has begun, the INDIA bloc has begun its seat-sharing talks in earnest.
The allocation of seats becomes pivotal for Congress, especially after recent electoral setbacks.
When asked about Bihar Education Minister Chandra Shekhar's remarks on Ram Temple, the AAP leader said that this is an unnecessary debate.
Education Minister Shekhar sparked off yet another controversy with his statements on Lord Ram and said that if people fall sick or get injured, they will seek medical attention rather than visiting a temple.
"If you get injured, where will you go? Temple or hospital? If you want education and want to become an officer, MLA, or MP, will you go to a temple or school?" Shekhar told reporters on Sunday.
Reacting to this, Bhardwaj said, "We are making this an unnecessary debate. If there is an injury, the patient is taken to the hospital, and the patient's relatives go to the temple. They pray to God. There is no conflict between the hospital, college and temple. All these things are important. There should be no scope for negativity in this."
Meanwhile, India's political landscape is undergoing a significant transition as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near. The INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) consortium is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance.
The bloc is struggling to resolve key challenges, including finalising seat-sharing arrangements and, most importantly, deciding on a PM face, while the BJP has started executing strategies it laid out in 2023 to secure victory in general elections.
