New Delhi [India], December 13 : Following the security breach, Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said on Wednesday that security needs to be beefed up in the Parliament.
In a major security breach during the Zero Hour in Parliament, two men, both carrying canisters that emitted yellow smoke, jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber before they were overpowered by the MPs. Simultaneously, two protestors--Neelam (42) and Amol (25)--protested outside the Parliament with similar gas canisters. However, all four were detained later.
"I think security in Parliament definitely needs to be beefed up. This shows that the security was lacking, and they need to tighten it up," Reddy said while speaking to ANI.
Meanwhile, according to Delhi Police sources, the six people, of whom five were identified, came from outside the national capital and stayed at a residence in Gurugram, Haryana.
Earlier in the day, senior officials of the Intelligence Bureau visited the new Parliament building where the major security breach happened.
