New Delhi [India], January 27 : After the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that the BJP is trying to topple the Delhi government, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on Saturday launched scathing attacks and asked evidence from CM Kejriwal to prove his allegations true.
BJP Leader Shehzad Poonawalla said "If there was ever a world record for the biggest liar, it would be AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. This is all drama. This victim card is being played because your corruption has been exposed. Kejriwal calls himself 'Kattar Imaandar' but his leaders Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia are in jail. People have seen through his lies and corruption."
BJP leader Harish Khurrana challenged AAP chief and Minister Atishi to name BJP leaders who tried to buy their MLAs.
"You have become fond of creating new interesting stories every other day. Allegations are made but no evidence is visible. Earlier, before going to jail, Manish Sisodia had said that 'Operation Lotus' was being run by paying Rs 25 crores. Even then we asked to show the proof. Once again such false allegations are being made by them. I challenge Atishi and Kejriwal to name any BJP leader who tried to buy them. There is a message to Kejriwal ji that you cannot escape the law. ED is questioning you only under the law. You will have to answer the questions given," he said.
Kapil Mishra, who was earlier with AAP but later joined the BJP said that Kejriwal is again lying as he has done since the last seven times. Not once has been able to tell which phone number was used to contact them, who contacted them, and where was the meeting held. he just gives out statements and goes into hiding.
"His partners are in jail, and he is repeatedly avoiding ED summons because he knows he does not have answers to the ED questions," he added.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, senior AAP leader Atishi Singh claimed that the BJP has approached several AAP MLAs with bribes and threats in a bid to induce defection.
Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva said that Kejriwal has come only to loot the people of Delhi and apart from this has not done anything. He later termed the allegations as 'Shameful'.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the people of Delhi will teach CM Kejriwal a very good lesson.
"When you have nothing and don't know how to work, then you are telling another lie for sympathy. Kejriwal Ji is an expert in telling lies. Anyway, how many days are left for their government? The people of Delhi will teach them a very good lesson," he said.
Meanwhile, Congress looked to defend its alliance partner.
Party leader Sandeep Dikshit said "BJP is adopting such tactics in many states. You saw this happening in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, the entire North-East and in many states. I would not be surprised if BJP topples an established state government, that too when Lok Sabha elections are coming. BJP has now realized that it is not able to perform that well in the elections and is doing so out of fear."
