Jind (Haryana) [India], September 16 : Ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections, former Union Minister and Congress leader Chaudhary Birender Singh said the situation of the BJP is worrisome in the Haryana Assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI, Chaudhary Birender Singh said, "The situation of the BJP is worrisome in the Haryana Assembly elections, and the BJP is trying to make sure that PM Modi is taken all around Haryana. But it won't make any impact as the public has already made up their minds."
Voting for Haryana's 90-member legislative assembly will take place on October 5 and votes will be counted on October 8.
When asked about Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's bail, he said, "Kejriwal campaigned for the AAP and they fought the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the Congress party but the results were not in favour of them. AAP has no influence in Haryana, and his bail will not create an impact."
Earlier, on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that he will resign from the position of Chief Minister after two days and won't sit on the chair of CM, until the public of Delhi declares him "honest."
Kejriwal further said that if the public votes for him, it will give him a certificate for his honesty. He also said he would ask for early polls along with the state of Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said there is only a two-way battle in Haryana for the upcoming assembly polls, and it is between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing a public meeting on Sunday, the former Haryana Chief Minister said that the battle is between Congress and the BJP and also urged the voters not to vote for anyone else. He further said that it was time for the change in governance, as it had been 10 years and the people could judge on the work that the current BJP-led government had done and the previous Congress-led government had done.
"Today in Haryana, the battle is between Congress and BJP... Do not waste your vote on anyone who is trying to get in from the middle... It is time to change the government here. It's been 10 years, you must have seen. Just look at the work we have done during our reign and then look at the work that they have done," Hooda said.
He further announced that their government will increase the pension amount for the elderly to Rs 6,000 and will also make LPG cylinders available at Rs 500.
"We will release our manifesto, but I am telling you a few things that our government will do. We will make a pension of Rs 6,000 for the elderly. LPG cylinders will be available for Rs 500," he added.
