New Delhi [India], April 8 : Delhi Minister Majinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday accused the previous AAP government in Delhi of "destroying" the Guru Tegh Bahadur memorial near Singhu Border.
Speaking to ANI, Sirsa vowed to revamp the memorial and said that the place will educate tourists about the sacrifices made by Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Calling the previous AAP government "useless", he said, "This memorial dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur was built around 15 years ago. It is unfortunate, and we feel sorrowful, that this useless government led by Arvind Kejriwal absolutely destroyed it... This shows the priorities of the AAP government and Arvind Kejriwal...
"This place will be revamped so that tourists coming to Delhi know about Guru Tegh Bahadur's Memorial and his sacrifices," the Delhi Minister added.
His comments came during Sirsa's visit to the memorial along with Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra.
This complex has been constructed in the area of 11.87 acres and is presently being maintained by Delhi Tourism, which comes under the Government of Delhi.
The Memorial complex was set up to be dedicated to the ninth Guru of Sikhism, Guru Teg Bahadur.
Earlier today, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood attacked the Aam Aadmi Party after inspecting schools in the national capital and said that the previous government developed two schools in Patparganj Vidhan Sabha.
"It is unfortunate that when I arrived at the school located in the constituency of 'father of educational revolution', I was told that for the last 1.5 years, the school has been requesting to renovate the ceiling, and it was not done... They just developed two schools here and there and have been rambling about a revolution in education ever since. This is their truth. We do not want to get into a blame game, but the conditions of schools that we are seeing are unfortunate... This is why they have lost this time," the Minister said.
He further said that, based on the complaints of their MLAs, they are visiting the schools with shortcomings in infrastructure.
"Based on the complaints of our MLAs, we are visiting those schools where there are shortcomings in infrastructure and the education system... Our government has now stopped counting the past shortcomings. Now our focus is on completing these tasks as soon as possible," Sood said.
Patparganj MLA Ravindra Singh Negi and Delhi Minister Ashish Sood visited Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya Mayur Vihar Phase 2.
