"SP and Trinamool may have different names, but their DNA is similar to that of Congress," says Yogi

Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 22 : In a scathing attack on the opposition parties, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that those who oppose Ram also oppose India, Hindus, Dalits, backward communities, and the common people. He accused the parties of compromising the security of businessmen and daughters, firing bullets at Ram devotees, and mourning the death of a mafia member.
Yogi Adityanath made these remarks during a public meeting held at the Mela Ground in Jaunpur, where he sought votes for Bhadohi and Machlishahr Lok Sabha seats Vinod Bind and BP Saroj, respectively.
According to Yogi, while the state's citizens felt relieved following a mafia don's death, members of the Samajwadi Party (SP) were in tears.
Hitting out at the SP, Yogi Adityanath said, "I once asked an SP leader why I had never seen him show concern for the public, the poor, farmers, Dalits, or the underprivileged. The mafia member in question was their associate, aiding in extortion. The SP leader lamented that without these extortion centres, they would be left destitute."
Reiterating the Modi government's achievements, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the slogan 'Abki Baar 400 Paar' has not only left the opposition alliance, including regional parties like the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, in disarray but also highlighted the government's strong position. He pointed out that the SP and Congress are not contesting elections in 400 seats, and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) cannot do so either.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commented on the recent events involving the Samajwadi Party (SP), highlighting their repeated electoral losses in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022, with an anticipated defeat in 2024. He drew attention to SP members' arrogance and lack of discipline, as evidenced by their recent behaviour.
He further remarked on the recent altercation within the SP ranks during a public event, emphasising that a party unable to maintain decorum among its members cannot contribute to a civilised society.
Drawing parallels, Adityanath likened the SP's tactics to those of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, noting similarities in their approaches despite differences in nomenclature.
He said, "SP and Trinamool may have different names, but their DNA is similar to that of Congress."
In the public meeting, MLA Awadhesh Singh, Vipul Dubey, Dinanath Bhaskar, Bediram, RK Patel, Legislative Council member Brajesh Singh Prinsu, BJP's regional minister Ashish Singh, Machhilishahr District President Ramvilas Pal, Bhadohi District President Deepak Mishra, and former MP Gorakhnath Pandey were present. Ranganath Mishra, former MLA Sushma Patel, Ravindra Nath Tripathi, Anirudh Tripathi, etc. were present.
