SSP Reasi reviews operational preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir

Reasi (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 11 : To examine the old infiltration routes, hideouts, crime prevention strategies, community engagement initiatives, and the well-being of police personnel, on Thursday, SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma-IPS, along with ASP Reasi and ICPP Thanole visited the area of Police Post Thanole and the newly established Police Component Narkote in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The visit aimed to enhance public safety and law enforcement efficiency.
The objective was to ensure the optimal operation of the police post-Thanole and police component Narkote for community service and protection.
SSP Reasi also interacted with the public, addressing their concerns and guaranteeing protection from anti-national elements. She reviewed past terrorist attacks and ongoing initiatives, assessing their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
Expressing satisfaction with the performance of both units, SSP Reasi acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the police personnel. The visit served to motivate and inspire the team to continue their efforts in protecting and safeguarding the minority areas.
This visit reflects the department's commitment to maintaining high operational standards to meet the community's needs.
Since June 9, there have been terror strikes at four places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda in which nine pilgrims and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan were killed. A civilian and at least seven security personnel were also injured.
Earlier on Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrived at the incident site where an Army convoy was ambushed in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir in which five Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, tragically lost their lives on July 8.
In the attack, five others sustained injuries in a terrorist ambush on a routine patrol vehicle near Badnota village on Monday.
