Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 20 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Saturday that his government will take steps to establish a diamond polishing industry in the state.
"We produce diamonds here, but they go elsewhere to be polished. We will try to ensure that this diamond is polished here and its industry is also established here," he said.
CM Yadav's statement came after inaugurating the Regional Industry Conclave being held in Jabalpur district.
He also said that his government will establish a skill development centre in Jabalpur to promote the textile and ready-made garment industries.
"Will establish an ultra-modern skill development centre in Jabalpur to promote textiles and garments," he said.
He also said, "For 250 years, they looted us, but in just 70-75 years, we surpassed them and achieved a new milestone of being the fifth-largest economy in the world."
"Here, 16 industrial parks are in the Mahakoshal region with 517 (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) MSME units," he said.
"In the pharma sector, there are more than 275 pharmaceutical units in Pithampur alone in Madhya Pradesh, and we export pharmaceutical products to more than 160 countries from our state," he said.
Regional Industry Conclaves are being organised as a pre-event of the "Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investor Summit-2025." GIS-2025 is proposed to be organised in Bhopal on February 7 and 8 next year.
According to an official release, over 3500 industry leaders, including leading industrialists, representatives of various industry associations, and prominent foreign delegates, are participating in the Jabalpur Regional Industry Conclave. Besides, CM Yadav will virtually inaugurate around 60 units and will also hold one-to-one discussions with industrialists on the occasion.
The objective of the conclave is to promote cooperation by bringing investors from major markets on one platform and having meaningful discussions, the release added.
