New Delhi [India], May 15 : BJP leader Radhika Khera lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the alleged assault on AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal by the personal assistant to the CM and asked whether Kejriwal got bail so that these kinds of incidents could be carried out at his residence.
"This is a very sad situation. Did Arvind Kejriwal get bail so that these kinds of incidents be carried out in his residence?" BJP leader Radhika Khera said.
She further asked that when AAP leader Sanjay Singh admitted that such an incident had occurred then why FIR had not been lodged yet.
She further said, "Be it AAP, Congress or any party of the INDI alliance, women are not safe there. Why the accused hasn't been sent to jail? Why FIR hasn't been lodged against him? Chief Minister who came to power riding on women's security and if inside his residence there is such a horrible situation, the Chief Minister should have taken action against the accused."
Kausar Jahan questioned CM Kejriwal if he feared action would have implications on the Delhi Excise Policy case.
Kausar Jahan said, "Why no action is being taken by Arvind Kejriwal? Does he fear that if he initiates action then important information in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy will come out? In this matter AAP and Arvind Kejriwal have behaved in a very shameful manner. Earlier CM Kejriwal had rejected the requests of women of Delhi and opened liquor shops in all places in Delhi and now a woman belonging to his party is assaulted in his house but no action is taken."
According to the Delhi Police, Swati Maliwal has not yet contacted them to register her complaint. The police said that it would wait for some more time for the complaint and if no complaint is still received from Swati Maliwal, then Delhi Police might contact her.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) brought a censure motion at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi House over Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal's allegations of assault by Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant at the Chief Minister's residence.
This comes nearly just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the National Capital. All seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi will vote on May 25. The Aam Admi Party and Congress are jointly fighting the elections.
