Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], January 1 : Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay on Monday urged the opposition alliance to take all steps required to remove the NDA government and bring INDIA Alliance to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
"To remove the NDA government and bring INDIA Alliance to power, we should take all steps required. The TMC in West Bengal should take the necessary steps to succeed in 42 seats and participate in the democratic process to advance the party," Bandyopadhyay told ANI.
Further taking about the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the TMC MP alleged that once seat sharing in 400 seats is decided in the INDIA alliance, then the BJP will be unable to register victory in above 200 Lok Sabha seats.
"Seat sharing should happen as soon as possible. There are 543 members in the parliament in the country, and at least 400 seats should be shared. Once seat sharing in 400 seats happens and there is a 1:1 fight, I am confident that the BJP's seats will fall below 200," the TMC MP said.
Clarifying their equation with the state's Congress party, Sudip Bandyopadhyay stated, "In West Bengal, the Congress has become a broker for the BJP. For the concern of the entire country, after the conversation between Mamata Ji and Sonia Ji, if any path comes out, we will accept it."
Further, Bandyopadhyay targeted PM Modi, stating that the PM tries to win votes by bringing religion into politics.
"Regarding what Modi Ji says about the Ram temple, I am not ready to believe in Modi Ji's guarantee. Modi Ji had given a lot of guarantees in 2014, black money will come back from abroad, everyone's bank account will get Rs 15 lakh, 2 crore unemployed will get jobs, and petrol, diesel and domestic gas prices will remain under control. We have a complete idea about his guarantee. He tries to win votes by bringing religion into politics," TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said
"The people of the country are against the BJP after the work they have done after being successful in the Lok Sabha for the last two times, and if the opposition alliance comes together, the defeat of Modi Ji and this government is certain," Sudip Bandyopadhyay added.
