Talks with priests were successful, soon solution would be found: District Magistrate as shutdown at Kedarnath Dham ends

Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], May 11 : Amid the opening of the doors of the world-famous Kedarnath Dham, the priests of Kedarnath Dham had kept Kedarpuri closed on Friday, but as soon as evening approached, the priests ended the shutdown. District Magistrate Dr Saurabh Gaharwar said that the talks with the priests were successful and soon a solution would be found to all grievances.
After the shutdown ended, along with the operation of horses and mules on the Kedarnath walking route, all the shops, hotels, lodges etc. opened, after which the pilgrims also started getting facilities.
Continuous talks were being held with the priests and horse-mule operators from the administration.
District Magistrate Dr Saurabh Gaharwar said, "The priests had closed the doors regarding compensation for natural calamities and their buildings. Continuous talks were going on with the priests. The talks were successful. We will soon find the solution. Similarly, the horse-mule operators were also on strike, demanding the roads be repaired and by evening, their strike had also ended and the journey is going smoothly as usual."
Rudraprayag police said that the official number of devotees who visited Baba Kedarnath from the time the doors opened till late evening on Friday was 29,030.
This year's Kedarnath Dham Yatra will continue for six months.
The commencement of this year's Char Dham Yatra coincides with the auspicious reopening of the Kedarnath Dham after a hiatus of six months.
The first puja at the shrine in the early hours of Friday was conducted in the name of Prime Minister Modi, marking the commencement of the pilgrimage season.
Gangotri Dhami, along with Kedarnath and Yamunotri Dham, has opened after a gap of six months.
The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on Friday at 4 am in Bramha Muhurat on the special occasion of Akshay Tritiya. Kedarnath Dham is one of the country's oldest and most sacred pilgrimage sites. The portals were opened through rituals and the ceremonial chanting of hymns after a gap of six months, including the peak winter phase.
