Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 6 : Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Andhra Pradesh state president Palla Srinivasa Rao on Thursday said that party chief Chandrababu Naidu will initiate further action against the party's suspended MLA Koneti Adimulam after facing allegations of sexual assault from a senior woman leader.
"Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu will initiate further action against Koneti Adimulam, the MLA from Satyavedu Assembly constituency in Chittoor district, in a day or two," said Palla Srinivasa Rao.
The woman TDP leader held a press conference at Tirupati in which she accused Adimulam of sexual assault at a hotel, and showed a video of him allegedly misbehaving with her. She also showed her phone's call records to highlight repeated calls she received from the MLA.
She alleged he had blackmailed and raped her twice at the same hotel earlier, and threatened to ruin her life if she told anyone. She further claimed that she had written to Naidu and party general secretary N Lokesh Naidu urging them to expel him from the party.
Adimulam is a two-time MLA from Satyavedu assembly constituency. He was with the YSRCP earlier and had unsuccessfully contested in 2014.
