Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 22 : Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy claimed that the ruling Telugu Desam Party has been targeting YSRCP leaders and damaging their properties and that the police are not taking any action despite complaints.
Reddy alleged that the TDP has been trying to weaken the YSRCP by targeting its leaders and damaging their properties. He claimed that the TDP has been using private individuals to attack YSRCP leaders and damage their properties, without even serving notices in some cases.
The former minister also alleged that the TDP is trying to eliminate the YSRCP and that the people are watching everything. He warned that the TDP's actions will backfire and that the party will face the consequences in the future.
Reddy's comments come in the wake of recent attacks on YSRCP leaders and damage to their properties in various parts of the state. The YSRCP has been accusing the TDP of unleashing a reign of terror against its leaders and cadres.
In a recent incident, a rice mill belonging to YSRCP leader Ranga Reddy was set on fire in Kudur village of Gudur mandal in Nellore district, causing a loss of Rs 50 lakh. Despite complaints to the police, no action has been taken against the culprits, Reddy alleged.
Former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy allegedly allotted two acres of irrigation land in survey number 202/A1 in Tadepalli in the capital area of Amaravathi to his party office, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) said.
The ruling party claimed that Jagan had prepared a plan to occupy the neighbouring 15 acres by building the party office on these two acres. It has now been clarified that the Irrigation Department has not given the clearance to hand over these two acres to the YSR Congress party, the TDP said.
The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), or the Mangalagiri, Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) or even the Revenue officials did not hand over the land belonging to the Irrigation department to the then ruling party, the ruling party said.
The TDP further said that what is more surprising is that the YSRCP did not even apply for the clearance of the plan to build the party office and began the construction.Learning about all these matters, the general secretary of the Guntur district unit of the TDP lodged a complaint with the Commissioners of the CRDA, MTMC officials on the illegal occupation of this two acres land and wanted necessary action be taken against the illegal occupants, the TDP said.
Following this, the demolition of these illegal constructions of the YSRCP leaders has been launched under the supervision of the MTMC officials, it said adding that the letter was sent to the YSRCP leaders by the Irrigation Department.
