Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 20 : BJP leader Ramchander Rao condemned the police cases registered against Bharatiya Janata Party MP K Laxman and 12 others for staging a protest outside the residence of the 23-year-old, who recently allegedly died by suicide in her hostel room in Hyderabad.
Rao on Thursday said that death of the woman displayed how the youth of Telangana are disappointed and angry with the state government.
Warangal native M Pravalika, an aspirant preparing for the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam was found dead in her hostel room on October 13. The woman, according to her brother resorted to the extreme step as she fell into depression after a notification about postponement of the TSPSC exam.
On Thursday, a protest was held outside the deceased woman's residence and when leaders like MP Laxman and BJYM state President Bhanu Prakash who went there to express their support, the police filed false cases against Laxman and others showing that the government is having a vindictive nature, Rao said.
Reacting to the whole issue, Ramchander Rao said, "Pravalika's suicide shows that the youth of this state is disillusioned and angry with this government."
He further said, "Some students are not able to write examinations because the government is not conducting proper examinations. There are over 30 lakh aspirants in the state of Telangana but there are no job notifications by the Public Service Commission, and when the notifications are there, there are leakages."
The girl has committed suicide because of all these prevailing circumstances in the state, said Rao.
The BJP leader alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government tried to "suppress the fact that the woman Pravalika died due to unemployment, and they tried to turn the story with their lie that she did not appear or apply for any competitive examination."
"After the TSPSC aspirant committed suicide, our BJP MP, K. Laxman and BJYM state President (Bhanu Prakash) went to the spot where 5000 students had already gathered but the police filed a false case against both of them which shows that the current state government is having vindictiveness against the BJP. The undemocratic attitude of the government is exposed," said Rao.
He further appealed to people to vote in large numbers and defeat the ruling party in the next elections.
